Happy National Volunteer Week

Date: April 16-22, 2023

Happy National Volunteer Week! Each of our dedicated volunteers are committed to making a difference in the Lindbergh Community. Many of our volunteers are parents, staff, alumni, retired educators, and community members who are all working towards the same goals.

Our volunteers for Lindbergh Lights the Way focus on students and their families who need a helping hand. The Lindbergh Lights Up The Holidays Utility Program, The Giving Tree, College Kickstart, and Summer Café programs are all coordinated by our LLTW volunteers! They go above and beyond for the kids in our district day after day and we are so thankful for all they do!

Our volunteers for LHSAA acts as a liaison for alumni to the district, sponsor district events and programs, and strengthen the bond between Lindbergh High School and its Alumni. Events like Trivia Night, Homecoming, and Alumni Awards Banquet are all coordinated by our LHSAA volunteers! All the proceeds from these events go directly back to scholarships for LHS Seniors. They make it their mission to preserve the history of LHS, help with reunion planning, honor outstanding graduates and faculty members, award scholarships to college and vocational school bound LHS graduates, and provide financial support for special projects and programs at LHS. Our volunteers are outstanding and we are so thankful for all they do!

Our volunteers for Lindbergh Retired Educators provide a continuing connection for all retired Lindbergh employees. Members of LRE organize events like Back to School Luncheon, Holiday Merriment, and most recently Spring Fling Luncheon and Auction. Proceeds from these events benefit the LRE Scholarship Program and Angels’ Arms. Thank you to our retired educators for volunteering your time to give back to the Lindbergh Community.

The Junior Board assembles young leaders that work on mission-critical initiatives that they help to identify. Members learn business and non-profit development skills, get hands-on experience in identifying community problems, have the opportunity to network with professionals, and so much more! This year the Junior Board helped raise significant funds for the LLQ Scholarship - a scholarship created in Memory of Quintyn Lewis. They will have their Junior Board Bakesale in May to help raise funds for the Lindbergh Lights the Way Program, Summer Cafe. They also have volunteered at more than 25 different Lindbergh Community events throughout the year. Some roles have been to greet attendees and some have been to be guest emcees for the event. Our student volunteers are amazing and we are so thankful for all they do! In addition to the board of 31 student volunteers, the Junior Board has five advisors that volunteer their time to lead this program. Volunteer advisors include: Tim Deposki, LHS Social Studies teacher; Barb Gregston, Foundation board member and retired educator; Erica Keating, Lindbergh Schools Foundation Executive Director; Kristi Kienzler, LHS Counselor; and Leigh Nieman, Lindbergh Lights the Way and parent volunteer. These advisors help provide our high schoolers with the opportunity to develop their own talents while learning to help others. Thank you for all you do and support!

Last but not least, Lindbergh Schools Foundation. LSF is dedicated to supporting the Lindbergh Schools’ commitment to excellence in all facets of education. Our Lindbergh Schools Foundation Volunteers go above and beyond to make sure that our students, teachers, staff members and our community are taken care of! Our volunteers are the backbone for our annual events, campaigns and programs such as the Foundation Scholarship program, Foundation Innovation Grant program, Foundation Junior Board program, Foundation Lunch and Learn program, Foundation Community Breakfast event, Foundation Vacation Raffle campaign, Online auctions, and our Thank-a-Staff Member Programs. Many of our volunteers work endlessly to help make these events, campaigns, and programs successful! We appreciate you and your generosity to give back to our community!
