In a noteworthy celebration today, Lindbergh High School honors the collaborative efforts of three exceptional educators, Michelle Stortzum, Sarah Pincus, and Shea Bowen, who, alongside their dedicated students from the Marketing Internship program, have embarked on an exciting project to introduce a new vending machine to the school.
Initiated by Assistant Principal Dr. Greg Fick, the project aims to not only provide a diverse range of snacks but also practical items that students may find useful in their day-to-day lives. The vending machine is set to be strategically placed either in or near the commons area, ensuring accessibility for all students.
The requested items for this innovative vending machine include popular snacks like Takis, Chex Mix, Sour Patch Kids, Hershey bars, and popcorn. Additionally, the machine will stock practical essentials such as phone chargers, mini deodorant, hair bands, oral care kits, first aid kits, and more.
What sets this project apart is the active involvement of students enrolled in the Marketing Internship program. This hands-on experience in business management will expose students to various aspects of the field, ranging from accounting and inventory control to pricing and marketing. By operating the vending machine, these students will have the opportunity to apply classroom theories in real-world scenarios, enhancing their practical skills and understanding of business operations.
The generated proceeds from the vending machine will not only serve as a practical learning tool but also as a valuable funding source. The funds will support DECA members in their participation in competitions, further enriching their educational journey and providing them with opportunities to showcase their skills on a broader platform.
