  • OUR HISTORY

    THE LINDBERGH SCHOOLS FOUNDATION

Founded in 1998 by a group of dedicated Lindbergh parents, the Lindbergh Schools Foundation was established with a commitment to supporting education and the students of Lindbergh Schools. These visionary parents recognized that traditional funding sources for public education might one day be insufficient to meet growing educational challenges. With this foresight, they made it their mission to lead efforts in raising additional funds to ensure the continued excellence of Lindbergh Schools.

THE HISTORY OF OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The first efforts of the Foundation were directed toward funding college scholarships for Lindbergh High School seniors. Over the years, the Foundation Scholarship program of the Foundation has expanded to include the financial management and administration of more than 100 scholarships established in the name of Lindbergh administrators, teachers, coaches or alumni, in addition to the original Foundation Adversity Scholarship.

THE HISTORY OF OUR TEACHER GRANTS PROGRAM

The Spirit of Lindbergh Fund and the Spirit of Lindbergh Teacher Grants program were established to encourage and support the efforts of district teachers who propose innovative projects to engage their students in more creative and exciting ways.  This program has evolved into the Innovation Grant Program and is now accessible by any Lindbergh staff member. Since beginning our grant program in January 1, 2008, 678 Lindbergh employees have received grants of up to $500, totaling more than $265,000.

THE HISTORY OF OUR ABOVE & BEYOND INITIATIVE PROGRAMS

The Foundation partners with existing district programs and supports new initiatives that enhance the student experience. For several years, the Foundation has collaborated with the History Alive Program at Lindbergh High School, where over 1,000 students annually meet with nearly 150 veterans who share first-hand accounts of their war experiences and the historical significance behind them.
